Patela Care Foundation

Goodwill Message
Greetings,
Patela Care Foundation board of trustees and team bring heart felt greetings to the Nigerian Society of Paediatric Oncology, ably led by the president Prof. Biobele Brown.
We highly commend the quality of service, collaboration, and positive impact the Nigerian Society of Paediatric Oncology has achieved since its inception.
It is estimated that about 200,000 children are diagnosed annually with cancer in low- to middle-income countries (LMICs) with survival rates of just 20%, compared to developed world with a survival rate of greater than 80%. Pediatric oncology care in resource-constrained settings is restricted by many challenges, which includes poorly developed health insurance, inadequate or inappropriate diagnostic support, poor infrastructure, inadequate and poorly trained manpower, limited numbers of radiotherapy machines and inadequate supply of chemotherapeutic agents. This burden is huge, and we applaud the role played by various stakeholders in the cancer space in improving these numbers.
Patela Care Foundation has consistently in the past years, received favorable collaboration with the Paediatric Oncology Unit, University College Hospital, Ibadan in executing laudable, sustainable programs and initiatives that have improved the quality of lives of the paediatric oncology patients and their family care givers.
The commitment of the Nigerian Pediatric Oncologists as a focused, unwavering, and relentless group of experts is truly worthy of emulation and inspiring.
Patela Care Foundation wish The Nigerian Society of Paediatric Oncology more success and sustainable positive impact.
Kind Regards
Dr Foluke Sarimiye
