Children Living with Cancer Foundation

The "Children Living with Cancer Foundation" (CLWCF) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to the welfare, medication, and support of children battling cancer, in collaboration with the Oncology Ward at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital and the National Orthopedic Hospital Igbobi, Lagos. Registered with Childhood Cancer International (CCI), CLWCF aims to raise awareness about childhood cancer, promote early detection, and provide prompt medical attention. The organization engages in various activities such as seminars, lectures, outreach programs, art exhibitions, competitions, and sporting events to create public awareness.

Mission

Raise awareness about childhood cancer and its curability.
Save lives through early detection and medical attention.
Provide support for children living with cancer and promote public awareness.
Undertake training programs, research, and medical studies to alleviate the suffering of victims.

Achievements and Activities:

Conducted awareness programs through seminars, lectures, outreach programs, art exhibitions, competitions, and sporting activities.
Provided essential medical equipment for the children oncology ward, including central lines, pulse oximeters, biopsy needles, cardiac monitors, and oxygen points by the bedsides.
Distributed free chemotherapy drugs to over 1000 children.
Facilitated surgeries for more than 20 children, although not originally part of their objectives.
Sponsored expensive investigations (CT scans and MRI) for over 50 children, costing #20,000 and above each.
Engaged in training programs for volunteers, sending a nurse/consultant oncologist to St Jude's, a leading childhood cancer treatment center in America.
